Dhaka – Dr Muhammad Yunus, chief adviser of Bangladesh's interim government, extended his congratulations to Donald Trump on his victory in the recent US presidential election. In a formal letter on Wednesday, Dr Yunus expressed his best wishes for Trump’s successful leadership. “I look forward to strengthening our bilateral ties and advancing sustainable development goals together,” he wrote.
Dr Yunus emphasized the longstanding friendship between Bangladesh and the United States, celebrating the progress made during his previous term. He conveyed hope for expanded partnerships addressing global peace, harmony, and prosperity, underscoring his commitment to collaboration.
Praising Trump’s reelection, Yunus noted, “Your leadership has clearly resonated with the American people.” Trump’s return to office, despite a campaign marked by intense challenges—including legal battles and a near-assassination attempt—stands as an unparalleled political feat. “The world awaits the continued inspiration of your leadership,” Dr Yunus concluded.
